Assistant Professor Somporn Rodboon is an academic advisor of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts in Mahasarakham University, Maha Sarakham Province, Thailand.
As an independent curator who has curated several international and local exhibitions, Assistant Professor Sompom’s curatorial work encompasses exhibitions such as The Birth of Modern Art in Southeast Asia: Artists and Movements organised by the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (FAAM) in 1997 and Interchange: Printmaking Dialogue between Australia and Thailand with the PSG Art Gallery in Bangkok, Sydney and Canberra in 2014. The latest of some of her local curation works include The Art Exhibition in Remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej with The National Gallery in Bangkok in 2016.
Assistant Professor Somporn was a member of the Acquisition Committee of FAAM, Japan (2001-2013) and The National Gallery, Singapore (2014-2017). Aside from teaching and curating, Assistant Professor Sompom has written numerous local and international essays on Thai art and artists. She is also the author of many biographies of Thai Masters.
