Ms Zanita Anuar is an established curator and writer of the arts. Currently the Director of Special Projects at the Deputy Director General’s Office of the National Art Gallery of Malaysia, the renowned curator plies her trade through curatorial and artistic collaborations with leading Malaysian artists. She graduated with a Masters of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She has been a curator at the National Art Gallery of Malaysia since 1995.
Ms Anuar is also an established speaker and lecturer. She has spoken at prominent art talks and lectured at Inti College and Limkokwing University of Creative Technology in Malaysia. She is a strong supporter of the art community in Malaysia and has been invited to be on the panel of judges for many prestigious art competitions, including the 2015 UOB Painting of the Year (Malaysia) competition, the Philip Morris Art Awards in 2003 and the Young Contemporary Award in 2011. She is currently working alongside renowned architect Hijjas Kasturi and eminent astrophysicist Professor Emeritus Dato Mazlan Othman on the panel of the inaugural Akademi Sains Malaysia ARTSCIENCE Award 2018.
In recognition of her contribution to the arts community, Ms Zanita was awarded the Neu Women Achievers Award and the Award of Highest Honour from the Fuji Art Museum, Japan in 2003.
