Hanging a plaque above the entrance of a home is a common practice in traditional Chinese families. Homeland celebrates Malaysia’s 60th birthday. The ‘Malaysia’ inscribed in Chinese characters depicts a sense of belonging to this country, while the wavy black lines betray a sense of uncertainty. The artwork aims to create a ‘work-in-progress’ impression, reflecting Mr Seah’s feelings towards his homeland.
