Migration is an exploration of mankind’s relationship with nature, and an expression of its imbalance and destruction.
The artwork, roused by the artist’s distress towards the illegal poaching of migratory song birds in the Mediterranean region, depicts various methods hunters use to trap birds, such as using mist nets. Birds that are caught are often sold in the black market as pets or local delicacies. Through the depiction of cruelty and savagery in Migration, the artist hopes to create awareness towards human destruction of the environment, which is increasingly becoming more prevalent and widespread.
