Artist: Gan Tee Sheng, (b. 1984)
Title: Old Man
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size (cm): 167.5 x 133.5cm
The painting depicts an old man resting by the side of the road. The tired expression reflects the old man’s loneliness and helplessness, knowing his life is coming to an end. The background and objects were blurred to express the emptiness in the old man’s mind in his state of anxiety. Through the painting, Mr. Gan wants to remind the society to give more care and attention to the elderly.
Mr. Gan Tee Sheng has been involved in a few exhibitions, including the Young & News Part III Exhibition at Matahari Gallery in 2009, Artriangle III at National Art Gallery in 2010, the Garden of Hidden Desires at Wei-ling Gallery in 2011, and the Figurative Trajectories at G13 Gallery in 2013.
